When you become a consultant for Rodan and Fields they stress the importance of figuring out your Why. Why are you doing this? What is your reason for building your Rodan + Fields business? Knowing your reasons keep you motivated and focused. It is something that is deeply personal and inspires the actions that lead to your results.
Several weeks ago I received a FB message from a friend/acquaintance I met through photography a few years ago. She wanted to let me know she’d started her own business with Rodan and Fields and “would I like to know more”. I didn’t respond. Life is hectic and busy and that one-minute to respond would’ve just ruined my day (she said sarcastically). About a week later, my friend messaged again, “Following up to see if you’re interested in learning more about R+F.” I typed back, “I’m so happy that you’ve found a business you love, best of luck, it’s not for me.” She messaged, “No problem, I get that. I would love to send you a mini-facial so you can try the products!” Well, heck yeah! I’m always up for trying new stuff. When I received the mini-facial I was hooked! I told Bryan that I thought it was amazing and I had to get in on it. He did research, and more research, and more research. He found all good things about Rodan and Fields, and as usual, he supported me completely.
I had been backing away from my photography business for several reasons, and wasn’t even close to looking at starting another business, but I am 100% behind R+F. I love the products and what they do, I love the other consultants I’ve come into contact with, I love the support everyone gives each other. That’s all true and definitely a reason Why I’m doing this but what is my real, deep-down-in-my-heart reason for selling/sharing R+F?
Kodi is shipping September 13th to Air Force Basic Training. The house she’s been living in for three years is owned by Bryan and me. We are now in the process of making a LOT of repairs to that house to put it on the market. Jake and Zach are moving out to LA on September 14th. We’re going to help them with rent and such for their first year so they can get acclimated and on their feet. Sami will be going back to SUI mid-August for her third year as a Dean’s List Criminal Justice major. Last, but not least, I will be homeschooling Phoebe this year. We found that last year, 4th grade, was more of a struggle for our incredibly smart girl with severe dyslexia and dysgraphia.
So my why is this…I want to meaningfully contribute! I want to help to pay for the repairs to Kodi’s house. I want to help to fund my boys first year in LA. I want to contribute to Sami’s tuition and apartment costs. Finally, I feel so blessed that I can do this business at home while I teach my youngest in an environment where she feels valued and confident.
If you’re still with me, here is how you can help. By clicking “like” on my business posts as well as my personal posts does NOT obligate you to purchase anything! It merely keeps me on the news feeds in case there is someone who wants to make a change in their skincare and try Rodan and Fields. It’s called being supportive! Also, if I message you and you don’t respond, I’m going to message you again. The reason is because I don’t know if you were having a busy day and it got lost in the shuffle or maybe you just forgot. Maybe you just need me to trigger something in you that will make you want to give it a shot. I love this product and, after seeing my personal results, I can’t fathom why EVERYONE doesn’t want to have amazing skin! That’s why I’m sharing.
Starting a business is hard… Putting yourself out there is hard. I’ve started off by reaching out to people I felt would support and lift me, and that does NOT mean buy from me. I’ve been so happy to connect with friends and family I haven’t spoken to in years and just catch up with each other! So many have been amazing, kind and supportive…most have not made a purchase…YET :), but they’ve made me happy and made me even more excited and determined.
If you’re still reading…I hope that I am, have been, and always will be a supporter. A supporter of family, friends, and friends of friends. I would just ask that you remember this…
“Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind.”
Hugs and Love…
