2012 Review…

It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to connect with everyone from my Seven Millers blog, but finally, here I am! One of my resolutions this year is to post here and keep everyone up on our crazy, ever-changing lives. It’s so easy to snap a picture on Instagram and post it on Facebook, but enough of easy.

2012 was a really interesting year for me personally. I decided to turn my passion into a business and opened SevenMPhotography. I’m blessed with having the most supportive husband in the world and have spent a small fortune on classes and marketing. I began my business in late 2012 and this year I’m really going to step things up and get my name out there. It’s definitely a lot of hard work, but I absolutely LOVE doing it! Send lots of positive thoughts my way and if you know of anyone looking for a photographer in the Kansas City area…

A yearly update on the kids…

Kodi – My girl is living at home again and has been interviewing for a particular position that I’m pretty sure she’s going to get within the next week!! It’s an exciting move for her and a great fit. She’s also been dating a guy that we think could be THE ONE! “Boy Cody” is sweet and kind and seems to truly be her better half :)
Time will tell but for now it’s wonderful to see her so happy and in love.

Jake – My college boy completed his first semester at The University of Arkansas with all A’s and B’s, Honors classes and all! He heads back to school around the 13th, but this will be his last semester at UARK. The big university life just isn’t for him and he wants to be around more “like-minded” people. Next year he’ll be attending Columbia College in Chicago. We just want him to be happy because, quite frankly, he deserves it! He is still dating Ali (yay!) and they’ve found a way to make the long-distance relationship work. She hasn’t made a decision of where she’ll go to school next year, but I think Loyola (in Chicago) is on her list :)

Sam – This child has the most difficult school schedule that a kid could have, tackling two AP classes in addition to her other hard classes. She pretty much rocked it and worked her butt off! Speaking of working her butt off…she also became incredibly health-conscious and fit, working out daily and running about three miles a day! She was also the Assistant Stage Manager for the school play, Noises Off, and will work on the crew for the upcoming musical.

Zach – Our Freshman has really taken to being a high school student. Unfortunately, more in the social areas then the education aspect. He is loving debate, acting and chorale, but not really feeling biology, algebra and comm arts :)
Eh, it’s not too bad, but hopefully he’ll want to have his iPhone this semester and will work a bit harder on his grades. He definitely had a growth spurt this year and has gotten taller than all of his siblings. Maybe he’ll be as tall as his Dad?

Phoebe – Sweet P is as sweet as ever! She makes us laugh all the time as she keeps her siblings in line and blurts out a funny little quip. We struggle with keeping her on task and focused in school, but she loves her teacher and being with her friends! We wondered if she would ever lose any teeth as her friends were losing theirs, but then it seemed like they all got loose at the same time and, well, it’s obvious that the orthodontist is going to LOVE us!

As for my honey, he’s wonderful and working hard! His travel schedule this year has been hectic, but we’ve all gotten used to it and fall into a routine when he’s away. I can’t even express how thankful I am for him.

I went back over my blog for the past year and picked some of my favorite photos.  I was going to narrow it down to my top 12 but that was just too difficult!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013!
